Hey all – introducing a new post category for the blog – the Quickie. I’ve been doing some planning around how to do a better job of posting more consistently, and one of the conclusions I’ve arrived at is that I put a lot of pressure on myself to do COMPREHENSIVE research for posts and find the best of the very best to share. And, how will I know if I’m sharing the very best if I haven’t scoured every source I know of?
Exhale. I’m relieving myself of the pressure, and introducing the Quickie. Here, I’ll throw some things up that I’ve found, that I like, without declarations of being the VERY best in the market. Instead, they’ll just be a little collection of things that have caught my eye.
Spring makes me want dresses, and even though Mother Nature hasn’t figured out that she should be serving up dress weather, I’m window shopping nonetheless.
Without fail, every spring, I crave florals the way a pregnant women craves, I dunno, anchovies and peanut butter. I MUST have them. Trendy or not, I’ve gotta have those botanical prints. So, no wonder these three caught my eye.
Sources left to right: Zara, Nordstrom, Madewell
Then, just as predictably as the seasonal flurry of floral desires, I start to feel a little “precious”, and begin the hunt for dresses that feel a little less like Laura Ashley. Solids. Stripes. Polka dots. Zigzags.
Sources left to right: Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Nordstrom
Also – in case you’re having a serious crisis of confidence in my levels of fashion know-how, I acknowledge the one on the right is a jumper, not a dress.
Anybody have a guess of the one I am MOST in love with?
Anyone?
It’s the Anthropologie one. Guh. So dreamy. But, unless that beauty goes on serious sale, I will have to live without it. Just another story of unrequited love.
Some other favorite sources for dresses are: ModCloth, Asos, Topshop, and, of course… consignment.
Where are YOUR favorite places to shop for spring dresses?
