This post is worth it just for the name. Man. And the other thing that makes it totally worthwhile is the gorgeous architecture (both buildings and landscape.) The architect of the Getty Center was Richard Meier, and he did an absolutely incredible job of taking cues from the setting to inform his designs.
It was raining and cloudy when I visited, which was a bit of a bummer, but in some ways it heightened by focus on the buildings, because the rest of the background setting was muted thanks to the fog. Nothing to distract.
It looks great in the rain! Did the Getty provide the cream colored umbrellas? Nice touch 🙂
